Vines and Whines Tour

Hi folks! Yesterday, Robert and Gill decided to go on a winery tour through Oliver, the wine capital of Canada. The temperature was around 38 degrees! I went for my first swim in Okanagan Lake. Pugs are ok swimmers, but we need a little help from a PFD (pug flotation device) to keep our hind ends up.
The first winery we visited was See Ya Later Ranch at Hawthorne Vineyard. This was my favorite place because of its appreciation for the puppy dog. It was also my introduction to canine mortality, as the vineyard has a graveyard where the dogs of former owner Major Hugh Fraser are at rest. A big day for a little dog!
I went along to each tasting in yet another pug containment unit, Gillian's straw beach bag, upstaging wine everywhere I went. After Robert and Gill enjoyed their tasting and bought a bottle of SYL brut, we went to the doggie cemetery.
One of the wines is named after this dog, Jimmy My Pal.You know the Irish joke that has Paddy asking O'Malley to pour a bottle of whiskey on his grave, and O'Malley asks if he doesn't mind if it passes through his kidneys first? Well, I paid my respects to the doggies in the cemetery in much the same way.
I had a great time in the beach bag. I can curl up on the bottom, or distract people from their wine tasting by peeking out.
We also visited Hester Creek, Blasted Church, Burrowing Owl, Stoneboat, and Oliver Twist wineries. They really enjoyed the 2007 Oliver Twist Pinot Gris, which is so fruity and delightful, it's almost a desert wine (or so they tell me).

Pug and Mug

I do not know about that mug. This pug, it does not like that mug.
What is in the mug, sir, asks the pug.

Why, it is a hedgehog in the mug, my little pug!
Pug and mug, our game is done, sir. Thank you, for a lot of fun, sir.
With apologies to Dr. Seuss.

Pocket Pug

This morning, I started the day as a pocket pug.

Robert was trying to teach me to fetch. As you can see, I'm a good listener, but not so good a fetcher.
Then Robert and Gillian got all McGuyver and worked on their pug containment strategy. I love eating flowers that were treated with flower dust earlier in the summer and learned to crawl through the fence yesterday. To keep me safe when they're not looking, this is what they came up with:
I am not amused.
Nap attack!
I just love Crocs, but I love their knock off, Holeys, even more. Robert and Gillian think they can trick me, but they can't. My squeeky shoe toy doesn't compare to the real thing.
I also love roses, particularly their thorns. Gillian doesn't think this is a very good idea.
And leaves! I just can't get enough.

Mrowr!

I also found my voice today, so I'll share a good little bark with folks to tell them what I think. It's all in a day's work.

Surrender to the Cuteness

Hi folks! This is my first posting to my puppydog pug blog "This Pug's Life," which documents the unbearable cuteness I will subject my people to. As you can see from the pictures of my second day with Robert and my first day with Gillian, I have no mercy.

I was really tired from saying goodbye to Auntie Jinx and the her friends in the truck and meeting Robert in Sicamous at 2:30 in the morning, so we both flaked out on the couch. It's hard work travelling from Manitoba to Quebec to BC!
This is my first picture with Gillian:

I love running in the yard and nibbling leaves and dandelion fluff and things my big people can't even see.
My powers grew as the day wore on, and by the end of it my people were suffering from a-cute pug poisoning. I was pooped, too. It's hard work being a puppy.

Sweet dreams!
